Anna Luebke

Violinist Anna Luebke is a performer and teacher based in the DC area. She has performed in the sections of various ensembles including The Apollo Orchestra, Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, and New World Symphony (FL), and has held concertmaster or assistant roles in the Londontowne Symphony Orchestra, Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra, Anne Arundel Community College Orchestra, La Musica Lirica Opera Orchestra, University of Maryland Symphony Orchestra and Opera, Brevard Music Center Sinfonia and Opera, and University of Wisconsin-Madison Symphony Orchestra and Opera. She appeared as a violin fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center in 2022 and 2023, where she was mentored by members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Juilliard String Quartet.

Luebke also enjoys performing as an opera orchestra musician and won a position with Des Moines Metro Opera in 2023. Her most recent opera engagements include performances of Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges, Bartok’s Bluebeard’s Castle, and Bizet’s Carmen with Des Moines Metro Opera; Barber’s Vanessa with Spoleto Festival USA; and a concert on the National Mall with Opera Italiana. She is also an active recording musician and can be heard on albums including the 2021 jazz release Elegy for an Undiscovered Species and new chamber music works soon-to-be released by Centaur Records in 2024.

Luebke views teaching the violin as an equal partner to her performance engagements, maintaining a private violin studio and teaching lessons through Howard School of Music and Chevy Chase Music. She has experience teaching all ages and levels and has also served as an instructor of record at the University of Maryland, where she was a private teacher for students minoring in violin performance.

Luebke received a Master of Music Performance degree from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts in Violin Performance degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has performed in masterclasses hosted by prominent solo, chamber, and orchestral musicians including David Kim, Vadim Gluzman, Stephanie Chase, Ioana Cristina Goicea, Gary Levinson, Lisa-Beth Lambert, and members of the Harlem Quartet, Brentano Quartet, Escher Quartet, The Knights, and Decoda.
