Sinan Wang

was the World Journal's review after Sinan Wang's solo performance at Carnegie Hall in
New York.


Sinan Wang, a violist and ensemble musician, has captivated audiences across the globe.
She has performed with the Kennedy Quartet, Aspen Music Festival, Annapolis Symphony
Orchestra, Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra, and the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra.
She has also graced the stage as a soloist at New York's Carnegie Hall and performed as an
ensemble member at the Musikverein Golden Hall in Vienna. Additionally, she has toured
extensively across Europe, Asia, South America, and the United States with various
orchestras.


In addition to her performing career, Sinan is a dedicated educator committed to nurturing
the next generation of musical talent. From 2018 to 2022, she served as a graduate
assistant at the University of Maryland, where she taught lessons and coached chamber
music to music minor students. In 2020, she was a chamber music instructor for the
Virtual String Ensemble (VSE), an online ensemble training program launched by the
Athena Education Group, the executive team of NYO-China. From 2021 to 2023, she
worked as a viola coach at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. She has conducted
numerous masterclasses and music education lectures across China and is also a
certified Suzuki teacher.


Dr. Wang holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Maryland, a Master’s
in Music degree from Rice University, and an Artist Diploma from Texas Christian University.
She studied under renowned instructors Katherine Murdock, James Dunham, and Misha
Galaganov. Her early education was completed at the elementary and middle schools
attached to the Shenyang Conservatory of Music. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree
from East China Normal University, where she studied with violist and pedagogue Dapeng
Sun and the acclaimed professor Nian Liu from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
